Panel discussion on immigration in El Paso, past and present: experiences of Holocaust survivors post-World War II, analysis of the historic/ current climate and public sentiment toward immigration. Expert panelists will discuss this important and relevant topic through examining key issues, such as the climate of public sentiment toward immigration, then and now, as well as the influence of assimilation versus acculturation, the personal stories and experiences of immigrants, and much more.
Discussion panelists: Dr. Mimi Gladstein, UTEP Professor of English and Theater Arts; Dr. Guillermina Gina Nunez-Mchiri, UTEP Associate Professor of Anthropology; and Father Bob Mosher, of Columban Mission Center.
